Storing Fabric in Attic?

Can anyone suggest a good way to store fabric short-term in an unfinished attic?

I was thinking blanket bags, the vinyl/canvas ones shaped like a box that zip closed at the top, with a handful of cedar balls or sachets to discourage pests. Do you think that would be sufficient?

I have accumulated a lot of fabric and faux fur from various sewing projects. Sewing projects come up regularly enough that I don't want to be rid of it entirely, but infrequently enough that I don't want it cluttering up my closet and craft room at all times (the fur especially is pretty bulky!) I'd like to be able to tuck it up into the attic, by the entrance, where I can retrieve it the few times a year a larger project comes up - it won't be shoved to a corner and forgotten until future generations, heh.

I tried researching online, but if the internet is to be believed, not only is it "impossible" to store clothes in an attic, you also can't store them in a basement, garage, or even under your bed without them being "destroyed"... which I know from experience is a bit silly, so I'm skeptical to believe that's not just over-cautious thinking.

Can anyone share their experience, or perhaps just set my mind at ease? Thank you!
